Today we went for afternoon tea as a belated Mother's Day gift. Q and Mini Q had their own seat on the train ride into the city.
We went to the swanky Ritz Carlton, which opened just a few months ago. This sculpture, the Mobius by Jeremy Guy, weighs over 500 pounds!
Afternoon tea was served in DEQ. The service was impeccable and the food was quite good. The Quatchis gave an A+ for presentation!
We occupied two large sofas by the fireplace. There was also a small library with an impressive book collection.
There was so much food (those little treats are deceptively very filling), we took a few for the road. Q and Mini Q hopped into the take home bag. I think the royal blue colour suits them.
The lobby was open yet peaceful. I snapped this photo of Q and Mini Q while they waited for my mum.
We had a very enjoyable time at the Ritz! Everything was first class!
I'm glad Q and Mini Q got to tag along with you and mum for the tea. The hotel is quite impressive and the service there is top notch. Looking through your photos I saw you got to sit by the fireplace in the lounge, and we sat there too when we visited earlier this month. The library is quite nice...lots of photo book for me to enjoy! Maybe we could do drink sometime in the DEQ? Beautiful hotel...great post!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the two get along so well! They are also so distinguished in their bow ties! Love it! Now the Quatchi family members are asking me to make them all bow ties too! Even the girls! (Quatchette and Quatchella) LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! Makes me hungry for little Q sized treats too! They look so spiffy in their bow ties! Love!!
ReplyDeletep.s. If you ever go to Vancouver, a great place for High Tea is the Secret Garden Tea Company... http://www.secretgardentea.com/
