Baking Round 10: Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350F. In medium bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy using an electric mixer. Add 1 egg and beat until blended. Add another egg and vanilla and beat some more. Add flour mixture and blend with mixer.

Scoop dough using a teaspoon. Roll dough into balls. Roll balls into confectioners' sugar until covered. Place balls on a prepared (greased) baking sheet about 2 inches apart from each other. Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until they are crackled and puffed. Yields 2 dozen.

These cookies are unreal, and so easy! Q loves them because they are the perfect size for him! Thanks, JW, for recommending the Williams Sonoma website for baking recipes! It is a great resource!

  1. try using parchment paper (not wax paper), under the cookies when you bake them. They will cook better, and won't burn the bottoms.

Good looking cookies. Also try epicurious.com
